Kobukai Aikijujutsu is the creation of Jan Janssens Shihan who has drawn on his 40+ years of intensive training in the Japanese Martial arts of:

- Judo
- Katori Shinto Ryu Kenjutsu and
- Shotokan Karate

Yoshiaki Unno Sensei arrived into Australia in 1974 at the request of Jan de Jong to Minoru Mochizuki for a Yoseikan Budo instructor to be sent to Perth.
Unno Sensei, an exceptionally skilled martial artist, with grades in:
- 8th Dan Aikido
- 8th Dan Karate
- 8th Dan Iaijutsu
- 8th Dan Kobudo (Weapons)
- 4th Dan Kenjutsu
- 2nd Dan Shorinji Kempo
- 2nd Dan Judo
The legacy of Unno Sensei continues with several Martial art schools of various disciplines (Aikido, Karate, Ju Jutsu and Sword) operating in Perth to this day.
